HOT NEWS - NEW WORLD RECORD!
For the first time in 35 years of
Pacific Offshore Racing history
In-Mocean blows away the
competition setting a world record
earning 710 points for the 1999
race season. In-Mocean also
blew away the competition in the
APBA, as no other A class boat in
the nation has ever captured over
700 points in the APBA.

Two new Kilo records were set in California this past weekend! The records were all set in the early part of the event when the best water conditions and air temperatures were present. A total of eleven boats took to the course in hopes of that elusive speed record.
M-7 Jelly Belly broke the old "M" class record first running 137+ mph. M-99 Renegade was a strong challenger, but was just slightly off the pace. The big news came when Rique Ford and M-69 Ragamuffin took to the course, turning a blistering 138.683 mph to take the record from Rick Bowling and M-7 Jelly Belly. Since this is the last Kilo run scheduled for 1999, The M-69 record should stand for all time as the world's fastest "M" boat since all "M" boats will be competing in the new Super Cat class in 2000.
Three "A" boats took the challenge, and all were over the 100+ mph mark. The new record was claimed by Jerry Sorrentino and A-1 In-Mocean at 101.865 mph. A-20 IMCO 2000 turned 100.3 mph, and A-711 Solareyes turned in at over the 100+ mark as well. The worlds fastest "A" boats are on the left coast for now! Congratulations to Jerry Sorrentino, the In-Mocean team, and Phantom Boats.
V-1 Ocean Spray was in the hunt for a new record, and looked like it was in reach turning times at 140+ mph, but could not back up the passes to claim a new record.
Paul Whittier and S-2 Secret Agent was the only Stock Boat present, and was close each time nearing his current world record speed on each pass. The conditions on the water had begun to degrade by this time, and it just wasn't in the cards. Congratulations still to Paul and the Secret Agent Team, as their current "S" class record will also stand for all time with "S" going to Factory 4 in 2000.
Three F-2 boats were present, with F2-12 Eliminator and F2-09 Ultimate Warlock running right on the current record, but again the conditions just wouldn't produce that new record. F2-05 Twister was just slightly off the pace. Again, conditions were playing a big part in all the boats performance at this time.
A Spectacular event to close out the season for Pacific Offshore. On to the Worlds in Saint Petersburg Florida! Thanks to Brian Conners, John Grannis, and the entire Pacific Offshore Organization for another world class event. Special thanks to my buddy Paul Abreu at PSA Marine for providing this information.
