The victorious team of Jerry Sorrentino and Norm Teague powered their bright yellow canopied Phantom In-Mocean with style and might, outlasting a dog fight with fellow Class A and Phantom competitors Team Erieisistable. After having finished in the second position behind In-Mocean on Wednesdays first day of racing, Eriesistible pushed their craft to the limit and provided some of the most dramatic racing of the Championships to date as Eriesistable spun out twice before pulling back on the throttles and finishing the race and the championship in a comfortable second place.
Offshore B's Instigator also won their second day of competition and their 1999 crown, beating the competition by a convincing 45 seconds. Second place was awarded to Dramamine, the 1999 APBA Offshore National Champion.
In Factory 1 today 15 competitors answered the green flag and provided another exciting race for this manufacturers class. In the fifth lap Brian Hollis and BC Canty of Hollis Motorsports, who were in second place at the time were both ejected from their 26 foot Warlock in turn four right in front of the St. Pete Pier. The team was deemed OK by water born doctors, though an exhausted Brian Hollis was later transported to a local hospital after not having eaten that day and passing out on shore. At press time Hollis was fine.
Though today's Factory 1 checkered flag was won by F1-49 Eracer the championship was earned by today's second place and Wednesday's first place team of F1-46 Freedom Offshore.
In Offshore's new introductory Factory EFI class competitors raced for their first official world title. The title was earned by two day winner Ultimate Warlock with driver Stephen Paliska and throttle Lance Hendrichsen.
